最大の見どころは国宝の大仏殿で、現存する木造建築としては世界最大級。
内部には高さ約15mの盧舎那仏（奈良の大仏）が鎮座し、圧倒的な存在感を放ちます。
大仏は752年に完成しましたが、度重なる火災や地震で損傷し、現在のは江戸時代に再建されたものです。
他にも二月堂のお水取り、南大門の金剛力士像、三月堂、戒壇院千手観音など見どころが多く、四季折々の風景も美しいです。
特に春の桜と鹿の組み合わせは奈良公園の象徴的な景色です。
倭国仏教史・美術史を体現する最も重要な寺院の一つです。

🟡 Tōdai-ji Temple, Nara Prefecture 🟡

Tōdai-ji, located in Nara City, Nara Prefecture, was founded in 728 by order of Emperor Shōmu as the head temple of the Kegon school of Buddhism.
It is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Historic Monuments of Ancient Nara and stands as one of Japan’s most representative Buddhist temples.

The highlight is the Great Buddha Hall (Daibutsuden), a National Treasure and one of the largest wooden structures in the world.
Inside sits the colossal Great Buddha (Rushanabutsu), about 15 meters tall, radiating an overwhelming presence.
The statue was completed in 752, but repeated fires and earthquakes caused damage, and the current version was reconstructed during the Edo period.

Other attractions include the Omizutori ritual at Nigatsudō, the guardian statues at the South Great Gate (Nandaimon), the Hall of the Three Buddhas (Sangatsudō), and the Thousand-Armed Kannon at the Kaidan-in.
The temple grounds are also renowned for their seasonal beauty. In spring, the combination of cherry blossoms and freely roaming deer creates one of the most iconic scenes of Nara Park.

Tōdai-ji is regarded as one of the most important temples embodying the history of Japanese Buddhism and Buddhist art.

🟡 Templo Tōdai-ji em Nara 🟡
O Tōdai-ji, localizado na cidade de Nara, na província de Nara, foi fundado em 728 por ordem do imperador Shōmu e é o templo principal da escola Kegon do budismo.
É um dos bens culturais da antiga capital de Nara reconhecidos como Patrimônio Mundial e representa um dos templos budistas mais importantes do Japão.

- O maior destaque é o Salão do Grande Buda (Daibutsuden), considerado a maior construção em madeira existente no mundo.
- Em seu interior encontra-se o Grande Buda de Nara (Rushanabutsu), com cerca de 15 metros de altura, que transmite uma presença imponente.
- A estátua foi concluída em 752, mas sofreu danos em incêndios e terremotos ao longo dos séculos; a versão atual foi reconstruída no período Edo.

Outros pontos de interesse incluem:
- O Nigatsudō e a cerimônia do Omizutori
- O Portão Sul (Nandaimon) com as estátuas dos guardiões Kongōrikishi
- O Sangatsudō
- O Kaidan-in com a imagem de mil braços da Kannon

As paisagens ao longo das quatro estações também são belíssimas. Na primavera, a combinação das cerejeiras em flor com os cervos do Parque de Nara cria uma cena emblemática.
