十月的卡尔加里，天一冷，人就容易动脑筋。
我也一样，脑子转来转去，想起一件事——
我在 Medium 开通会员后，第一个月写作收入是 0.09 加币。到现在，还是 0.09。

更扎心的是，我在 Medium 上已经发了 132 篇文章。
从移民故事写到工地见闻，从清晨的风写到夜里的灵魂。
每一篇都花了时间、脑力，还有看不见的情绪。

如果按阿省最低工资 15 元/小时算，
我写这 132 篇至少花了 700 小时以上。
55×16＝12720，这还只是 3/4 文章是我 2023 年后写好的粗估成本。
若把全部心力算上——
我的写作成本早超过 10 万加币。

结果收入是：
0.09。

是的，就是九分钱。
连一根牙签都买不到。

写作到底值不值？
值。
只是它不一定能换成钱。

Medium 的规则是这样：
你必须让 付费会员 阅读并停留足够久，平台才会把几分钱分你。
付费会员本来就不多，能读中文的更少。
所以 132 篇换九分钱，不是我的问题，
是平台的生态决定的。

我写这篇不是抱怨，而是想说一句真话：

写作不是谋生，是修行。
谋生靠工作，修行靠坚持。
每一个句子、每一个夜晚、每一次删稿重写，
都是我和世界的一次对话。

有人问我：“那你还写什么？”
我说：“因为我离不开它。”
写作像深秋的风，冷，但让人清醒。
像工地的热茶，苦，但暖到心口。

也许我永远赚不到钱，
但我赚到了一件别人给不了的东西——
我自己的声音。

如果你也在写作、也在挣扎，也在算成本……
请记住：

写作不是投资产品，
写作是灵魂的存款。

九分钱，是平台的评价；
这些年，是我对自己的交代。

Meanwhile, I’ve published 132 stories.

From immigrant life to construction-site philosophy,
from the morning wind to the heaviness of midnight thoughts —
every piece took time, effort, and a small piece of my life.

If I calculate my time using Alberta’s minimum wage (CAD /hr),
I’ve spent over 700 hours writing.
Just a rough estimate already reaches thousands of dollars.
In reality,
my writing has cost me well over 0,000 worth of time and soul.

And the payout is:

Nine. Cents.

Writing is valuable.
It just doesn’t always convert into money.

Medium works like this:
You only earn when paying members read your stories and stay long enough.
Paid members are few.
Paid members who read Chinese? Even fewer.

.09 isn’t a failure.
It’s simply how this ecosystem works.

I’m not here to complain.
I’m here to say something honest:

Writing is not a career plan.
Writing is a spiritual practice.

Working pays the bills.
Writing pays the soul.

Every sentence I carve,
every midnight I stay awake,
every draft I delete and rewrite —
it’s a conversation between me and life itself.

People ask:
“So why do you still write?”

Because I can’t stop.

Writing is like the autumn wind in Calgary — cold, but it wakes you up.
Like hot tea on a construction site — bitter, but warming.

Maybe I’ll never make real money from writing.
But I’ve gained something more valuable:

My own voice.

If you’re writing, struggling, counting costs, doubting yourself —

Writing is not financial investment.
Writing is a deposit for your soul.
