SVT-40 の設計において、いくつかの構造はこの銃そのものの性格を形作っています。
すべてを機能のために犠牲にすることはできません。
それらの構造が AEG の射撃性能に直接影響しない場合であっても、
私たちはあえて残すことを選び、設計段階で意図的に可動性と操作感を高めました。
モデルとして、「動く部分がある」こと自体が楽しさにつながるからです。
開発過程において、特に次の要素を重点的に保留しました。
レシーバー後方のセーフティカバーは実際に可動し、左右に開くことができます。
実銃では、トリガーセットを分解する際の リリースボタンカバー として機能します。
全体の分解手順は、可能な限り実銃の操作ロジックに近づけ、
簡略化のために流れを変えることは避けました。
セーフティレバーは可動式とし、操作方向も実銃に近い形で再現しています。
マガジンキャッチは二段階構造を維持し、
単一の簡略化された機構にはしていません。
長いピストンロッドは、電動システムでは本来の役割を果たさなくなっていても、
その存在感と視覚的なプロポーションを重視して残しています。
クリーニングロッドのボタンは、装飾として固定するのではなく、
実際に押すことができます。
前照準と銃剣ラグが一体となった構造は、
SVT-40 を象徴する外観要素であり、最初から変更の対象にはなりませんでした。
これらの判断は、設計および生産の難易度を確実に高めました。
しかしその結果生まれたのは、単に「SVT-40 に似ている」製品ではなく、
触感、操作感、構造のリズムにおいて、明確に SVT-40 であると感じられる 一本です。
そしてこの段階で、私たちは新たな現実に直面します。
これほど多くのオリジナル構造を残した場合、AEG 機構のための空間はどこに確保するのか。
それこそが、次のフェーズにおける本当の課題となりました。
In the design of the SVT-40, some structures carry the very character of the rifle.
Not everything can be sacrificed in the name of function.
Even if certain elements do not directly contribute to AEG shooting performance, we chose to preserve them,
and deliberately enhanced their playability during the design process.
Because as a model, some parts simply become more interesting when they can move.
During development, we made a conscious decision to retain the following key features:
The rear safety cover is fully movable and can be flipped left and right.
On the real firearm, this part serves as the release button cover when removing the trigger set.
The overall disassembly process was designed to follow the logic of the real firearm as closely as possible,
rather than being simplified for convenience.
The safety lever remains functional, with its operating direction kept similar to that of the real firearm.
The magazine catch retains its two-stage structure,
instead of being simplified into a single mechanism.
The long piston rod was preserved in both presence and visual proportion,
even though it no longer performs its original function in an electric system.
The cleaning rod button can still be pressed,
rather than being fixed as a one-piece decorative element.
The integrated front sight and bayonet lug structure,
one of the most distinctive visual features of the SVT-40, was never considered for alteration.
These decisions undeniably increased the complexity of both design and production.
However, they resulted in a rifle that is not merely “shaped like an SVT-40,”
but one that, through its tactile feel, operational details, and structural rhythm, unmistakably feels like an SVT-40.
It was also at this stage that we were confronted with another unavoidable reality:
when so many original structures are preserved, where does the space for the AEG system come from?
That question became the true challenge of the next phase.

フィンランドの「つり目」ポーズに苦言を呈した当方の投稿に対して、フィンランドの大手新聞社よりインタビュー機会を頂きました。現地でどこまで報道頂けるかわかりませんが、当方の回答コメントを以下に記します。

今回の議論は、単なるSNS上の騒動ではなく、フィンランド社会がこれまで自認してきた「人権先進国」という自己イメージと、アジア系住民が日常的に経験してきた現実とのズレを可視化した出来事だと受け止めています。
まず私は、人権活動家のように声高に差別を糾弾したいわけではありません。むしろ、直接的に嘲笑されたわけではない私たち倭国人が抱いた感情は、「差別された」ことよりも、「アンフェアさに強い失望を覚えた」ことのほうが大きいといえるでしょう。
フィンランドは長年、世界に向けて高い倫理性や人権意識を掲げてきました。その姿勢は国際社会から尊敬を集めています。しかし、今回のように公的立場にある人物─国会議員、ミス・フィンランド代表、弁護士、人権団体のトップ─が差別的と受け取られ得る表現を軽視し、それを「幼稚な振る舞いではあるが差別ではない」と片付けてしまう空気が生まれていることには、率直に大きな違和感があります。
アジア系の表象を誇張し嘲笑する行為は、欧米社会で長年「差別の象徴」として明確に指摘されてきました。黒人に対するステレオタイプ表現は厳しく糾弾される一方で、アジア人に対しては“ジョーク”として扱われる。この基準の不均衡こそが問題の核心です。
さらに、フィンランド在住の倭国人からは
「学校や地域社会でアジア人差別が“透明化”されている」
「対応ガイドラインすら存在しない」
といった声が数多く聞かれます。今回の件は、単に一個人の失態ではなく、社会の無自覚なバイアスが表面化した現象と捉えるべきではないでしょうか。
重要なのは、今回の批判がフィンランド全体への敵意ではないということです。倭国人の反応の多くは、
「その高い道徳的基準は本物だったのか?」
「人権意識は単なる綺麗事だったのか?」
という、「これまでポジティブな印象を抱き続けてきたフィンランドに裏切られた」かのような失望感から生じています。
差別とは、加害者の意図ではなく、受け手の経験と歴史的文脈で判断されるものです。「差別かどうかは我々が決める」とする姿勢は、国際人権の潮流とも相容れません。
フィンランドは本来、対話と包摂を重んじる社会です。だからこそ、この問題が感情的な対立ではなく、フィンランド社会とアジア系市民の相互理解を深める契機となることを期待しています。
<A more detailed personal view on the issue>
This controversy is not simply a social media uproar; I view it as an incident that highlights the discrepancy between Finland's self-image as a "human rights-advanced country" and the reality experienced daily by Asian residents.
First of all, I do not wish to loudly condemn discrimination like a human rights activist. Rather, I would say that the feelings we Japanese, who were not directly mocked, felt more like "deep disappointment at the unfairness" than "discrimination."
Finland has long upheld high ethical standards and a strong awareness of human rights. This stance has earned it respect from the international community. However, I find it frankly very strange that public figures like this one—a member of parliament, a Miss Finland pageant winner, a lawyer, and the head of a human rights organization—are downplaying language that could be perceived as discriminatory, dismissing it as "childish behavior, but not discriminatory."
The exaggeration and mockery of Asian representations has long been clearly identified as a "symbol of discrimination" in Western societies. While stereotypical representations of Black people are severely condemned, those made against Asians are treated as "jokes." This imbalance in standards is the core of the problem.
Furthermore, many Japanese people living in Finland have said things like, "Anti-Asian discrimination is 'invisible' in schools and local communities," and "There aren't even any guidelines for dealing with it." This incident should not simply be seen as the fault of one individual, but as a manifestation of unconscious bias in society.
What's important is that this criticism does not reflect hostility toward Finland as a whole. Many Japanese people's reactions stem from a sense of disappointment, wondering whether Finland's high moral standards were genuine and whether its talk of human rights was merely empty words. They feel betrayed by Finland, a country they've always held a positive impression of.
Discrimination is judged not by the intentions of the perpetrator, but by the experiences and historical context of the recipient. The attitude of "we decide whether something is discriminatory or not" is incompatible with the current trend in international human rights.
Finland is a society that inherently values dialogue and inclusion. This is why I hope that this issue will not become an emotional conflict, but rather an opportunity to deepen mutual understanding between Finnish society and its Asian citizens. December 12, 2025
